Not THAT Woodstock!

A few weekends ago, Sweet T, Kimmie J, and I took a road trip over to Woodstock, GA. I had googled this place and sort of knew what to expect, but this little town blew me away! It was so beautiful and old!
Several Saturday's a month during the warm months, the whole town gathers in the town park for a concert night. This is the event that we traveled for. It's a free concert and they have booths set up for people to sell food and crafts and all of the little shops around the park are open. Everyone brings lawn chairs, quilts, coolers, and they just hang out and listen to great music!
There are so many funny moments that happened that I can't even recall all of them! But I know the one moment that sticks out in each of our minds and will continue to do so for a while is the moment when it was my turn (after an hour an a half wait) to have my picture made with Chuck Wicks....I had been cool the whole wait and had even goofed off with his brother, but for some unknown reason, at that last second..the ballerina in me came out..and I frigging skipped up to this man and said (in my best Mrs. Doubtfire voice, might I add) "helllloooo"...yeah, so so sad...oh well, he thought it was funny and went along with it. Bless him!
Here are a few pictures from our adventure...

I don't think we were even close to Six Flags, but what the hey!

Do I REALLY need to tell you how good my cosmo was?
You just WISH you were as cool as her!
I think the Hampton was glad to see us go!

My inner Sammie came out!

Oh yes, it did rain!

One word shall suffice for the next several pictures.... YUM

This was AFTER the infamous skipping.. oh my..

I love you, Sweet T and Kimmie J! Thank you so much for everything!!

102.5 The Bull

Last Thursday morning, Tammy, Kimmie J, and I were invited by Dollar Bill himself to sit in studio with him and Chuck Wicks (the handsome man behind the song "Stealing Cinderella" and "Hold That Thought").
Now, Chuck Wicks is the same eye candy that I got to see in North Carolina and the same eye candy that the girls and I took a (FANTASTIC) road trip to see. His concerts are so much fun and he's so sweet and down to earth. He took time after the concert to meet every person that was in line. That just adds to the cute factor :)
Thursday morning was so much fun! We got the studio about 15 minutes early and got to hang out with Robbie and Dollar Bill and got to see some of how radio works. Fascinating at the least!
If you remember, I got so nervous and "star struck" at the last moment in Woodstock that I skipped up to him when it was my turn to meet him. Yeah, sad, I know...so, the girls were apprehensive about what I would end up doing at the studio. Needless to say, they had their cameras ready to catch it! ha! I surprised us all when I remained calm and collected... (score!)
The first conversation of the day that I had with him involved him making fun of my crooked finger....

After the show started, we found out what kind of show we were in for! This man has NO filter! No one knew what was going to come out of his mouth and I prayed and hoped that the ladies at daycare weren't listening! (they were). We enjoyed every minute of it! He is absolutely hilarious! You can tell that he is truly grateful for everything he has and everything he's experiencing, but he's still so down to earth and a real gentleman.

During the breaks, we all got to hang out and take pictures and talk. A couple of the girls said that we talked like we were old buddies and that we just "chit chatted" ...haha.. (no pressure..puh!) Here are some of the pictures from the day....

Chillin'

Here's where it got a little crazy

They went "Old School" on us (which also happens to be one of his new songs)

You can't handle this! :)

Day 3..the BEST!

This is how day 3 started... ha!
They were trying to squeeze the air out of the mattress and ended up having too much fun!
Look at Mason's face...
Now, check out Josh's face.. ha!
And remember how I told you that I would give you more details on the "Little Red Hen Club"? Well, here it is..
Apparently, this club was "invented" and founded by Grandy..we have members all over the world, USA, Ukraine, and South Africa.
Upon entering the LRHC, you must take the oath that you will tell the world about this club. This would be Kelly, Josh and Steph's awesome neighbor, taking her oath. Then you must do as Grandy does...I hate that I didn't get any more pictures than this, but I was busy helping him out. Grandy gets you up out of your seat and gets you bocking like a chicken, while dancing around like one. While you're busy dancing and bocking, someone (me in this instance) puts an egg in your chair..as if you laid an egg! I was laughing hysterically when it was my turn that I almost didn't notice the egg in my seat! Stephanie, as I mentioned before, chickened out about 3/4 of the way through..but it sure is nice being part of the LRHC! =) Mrs. Kelly was nice enough to fix Sammie's hair.. and she loved it!! You like the bow I made the girls??
Mini Miss America!
She was ready to go! Purse in hand!
As you can tell, Mason wasn't ready to go!
"What is going on!!??" Two out of three of my kids have black eyes.. not sure where his came from!
Just chillin'
Check out the dragster! We all wanted to ride really badly!
Sammie taking a "facebook picture"...you know, where you take one of yourself.. =)
The Marine Corps Roaming Jazz Band...awesome!
Waiting on the concert to start..
Yeah, he's just cool like that!
My hippie child!!
And now... for your eye candy!!!
Chuck Wicks!!!
ahhh...
This was the first move we made.. from way back yonder to way up here..
I promise my kids were having more fun than they look like!! haha
Yeah, ole hoochie momma had to show out!
Needless to say, Steph and I were jealous!
C'mon..all together... "awwww"
And our second move.. from close to even closer.. Sammie was sitting on the stage
You can thank me later.. =)
Mason informed all of us on this trip that he wants to be a Marine when he grows up..
The cannons they shot before the fireworks...
At sunset, they lowered the flag and played the national anthem..it gave me chills to look around see all of the different military branches saluting.
Then they played the military medley...each branch stood and saluted as their song was played.. even more chills.. I think I grew about 3 inches of hair while we were there...
And of course, my batteries died before all of this!! but it was awesome!!
They had the best fireworks show that I have ever seen in my life! It lasted a good 45 minutes and we were so close that you thought they were going to land on you.
It is safe to say that the kids and I had a wonderful 4th!!! Not so sure about Matt, he stayed back at the house.. it was too hot for him.. wuss =) but I still love him.
Here's to next year Joshua!! Thanks for everything!! I love you!
