Not THAT Woodstock!

A few weekends ago, Sweet T, Kimmie J, and I took a road trip over to Woodstock, GA. I had googled this place and sort of knew what to expect, but this little town blew me away! It was so beautiful and old!
Several Saturday's a month during the warm months, the whole town gathers in the town park for a concert night. This is the event that we traveled for. It's a free concert and they have booths set up for people to sell food and crafts and all of the little shops around the park are open. Everyone brings lawn chairs, quilts, coolers, and they just hang out and listen to great music!
There are so many funny moments that happened that I can't even recall all of them! But I know the one moment that sticks out in each of our minds and will continue to do so for a while is the moment when it was my turn (after an hour an a half wait) to have my picture made with Chuck Wicks....I had been cool the whole wait and had even goofed off with his brother, but for some unknown reason, at that last second..the ballerina in me came out..and I frigging skipped up to this man and said (in my best Mrs. Doubtfire voice, might I add) "helllloooo"...yeah, so so sad...oh well, he thought it was funny and went along with it. Bless him!
Here are a few pictures from our adventure...

I don't think we were even close to Six Flags, but what the hey!

Do I REALLY need to tell you how good my cosmo was?
You just WISH you were as cool as her!
I think the Hampton was glad to see us go!

My inner Sammie came out!

Oh yes, it did rain!

One word shall suffice for the next several pictures.... YUM

This was AFTER the infamous skipping.. oh my..

I love you, Sweet T and Kimmie J! Thank you so much for everything!!

102.5 The Bull

Last Thursday morning, Tammy, Kimmie J, and I were invited by Dollar Bill himself to sit in studio with him and Chuck Wicks (the handsome man behind the song "Stealing Cinderella" and "Hold That Thought").
Now, Chuck Wicks is the same eye candy that I got to see in North Carolina and the same eye candy that the girls and I took a (FANTASTIC) road trip to see. His concerts are so much fun and he's so sweet and down to earth. He took time after the concert to meet every person that was in line. That just adds to the cute factor :)
Thursday morning was so much fun! We got the studio about 15 minutes early and got to hang out with Robbie and Dollar Bill and got to see some of how radio works. Fascinating at the least!
If you remember, I got so nervous and "star struck" at the last moment in Woodstock that I skipped up to him when it was my turn to meet him. Yeah, sad, I know...so, the girls were apprehensive about what I would end up doing at the studio. Needless to say, they had their cameras ready to catch it! ha! I surprised us all when I remained calm and collected... (score!)
The first conversation of the day that I had with him involved him making fun of my crooked finger....

After the show started, we found out what kind of show we were in for! This man has NO filter! No one knew what was going to come out of his mouth and I prayed and hoped that the ladies at daycare weren't listening! (they were). We enjoyed every minute of it! He is absolutely hilarious! You can tell that he is truly grateful for everything he has and everything he's experiencing, but he's still so down to earth and a real gentleman.

During the breaks, we all got to hang out and take pictures and talk. A couple of the girls said that we talked like we were old buddies and that we just "chit chatted" ...haha.. (no pressure..puh!) Here are some of the pictures from the day....

Chillin'

Here's where it got a little crazy

They went "Old School" on us (which also happens to be one of his new songs)

You can't handle this! :)

Meltdownless

This morning was one of the first in a LONG time that one of my kids didn't have a complete meltdown! Praise the Lord!!
Even still, it took me at least 20 minutes to get Sammie out of the bed (yes, mother, I understand where she gets that from:). Mahlon's not so much a problem as he wakes up at the crack of dawn!
Sammie got something from Nana over the weekend that has become attached to her almost like glue. As soon as she wakes up, she wants them on and she doesn't want to take them off until she's climbing in the bed. So in an effort to make things go smoothly this morning, I tried to plan her outfit around them.....here's my mini Taylor...(Swift)...
Mahlon, he doesn't care what he wears...he would rather go naked if I would let him. He looks rather handsome though, don't you think? We took these kids to LaCosta for dinner last night (upon Sammie's request) and as usual, they were a mess. Fairly well behaved for the first 5 or 10 minutes, but as soon as they spotted the McLain's, it was over! Mahlon insisted that he scream and shout and sit behind Andrew. Bless his heart, after Mahlon got ketchup all over Matt's shirt, Andrew was on the edge of his seat trying to avoid it! Sammie wasn't going to be out done by Mahlon, so she talked loudly and laughed at EVERYTHING! They're such hams! I did send Mrs. Jaime (as Sammie calls her) an email this morning and apologize for them! They wouldn't let them eat their dinner in peace! :) As we were leaving Sammie looked up at me and said "Momma, can I go tell Mrs. Jaime, PawPaw Paul (yep, she said it), and Brandon's brother bye?" After a snicker or two, I told her of course...but once she got over there, she chickened out! She had me tell them bye...only I forgot to tell Paul what she called him!! Hopefully I'll remember next time! :)
It's finally College Football week!!! I'm being the wonderful little sister that I am and sucking it up and ordering the Alabama game on PPV for my wonderfully awesome brother that is coming to town! Stay tuned for pictures and no doubt great stories!

Gammie Time

Saturday night, the kids and I went to see Gammie. Oh, how we needed this! I love my mommie so much and I hate not getting to see her all of the time! Saturday was the first time I've seen her since the 4th of July, so it was long overdue!

When mom got home, we had pizza (which Mahlon snatched off the counter and destroyed the toppings! ha), talked for a little bit and then headed down to Aunt Didder's! I hadn't seen my aunt and her family in almost a year and it was so nice to see them! I can't believe how fast time is flying by!!
When we got there, my little cousin, Brooke, came outside and she had makeup on and she was so pretty (always has been, but now, she's grown up). She just started the 8th grade..oh my geez! She didn't break my heart as bad as Jesse did.
Jesse was my first first cousin on my mom's side of the family and we have always been close. I remember his first birthday party like it was yesterday (I know you guys hear me say that all the time). Although I'm not exactly sure what the place was, I remember being in the back of a truck riding through some sort of zoo and getting rained on. I remember someone passing Jesse through the sliding glass window so he wouldn't get wet. I remember getting back to the picnic area and there being a gift shop. Daddy bought me a squeaking...shark, I think it was. I remember sitting down for cake and having our party hats on. Josh thought it was funny to put his hat on his face and make Jesse laugh. Jesse thought it was funny to pull the hat and snap him in the nose! And now...now, Jesse just started his senior year in high school....he'll be 18 this year!!!! I knew he was all grown up, but like I said it had been almost a year since I had seen them and from seeing him to hearing him speak, I knew time was flying by!
Jen, mommie, Sammie, Mahlon, Brooke, Carli (Brooke's friend) and I went swimming around 9:30 Saturday night and had a blast. Mahlon loved being passed around and playing ball and Sammie loved climbing off the steps. (Aunt Jen's pool is different from ours, so this was a new experience for the kids) We swam for about an hour and then hung out for another 30 minutes or so. Once we headed back up to mom's I thought for sure the kids would crash....yeah, I was wrong. My kids stayed awake until 1:30!!! And of course, in usual Mahlon fashion, he woke up at 5:30...ugh.
Sunday was spent goofing off. The kids watched some movies and watched some Hulu.
They loved when Gammie and I would throw them up on our feet and hold them way up in the air (but what kid doesn't?!) Sammie loved it when Gammie did this...

Hooray for Gammie Time!! We shall do this again soon! With more pictures next time!

Look, I can still do it...

So, after many years of not tumbling around and daring myself to try new things (gymnastically...wait, is that a word??)..I put forth the effort to try a handstand....

I think I held it for a good 5 seconds.... I was so proud of myself!!

Hanging with Sheababy!

Saturday was a good day!
Sheababy and I went shopping for my bridesmaid dress with huge success!! Not only did we find a style, but they had it in the color and my size! whoop whoop! =)
Shea had given me some brown heels to wear for the wedding, but (as every bride does) she changed her mind on the shoe color. She wanted black instead, and hey, I needed another pair of black heels (thanks Anheiser!) so we went to....
Yeah, pretty much the greatest place on earth!
Then we lunched it at...
I missed the sign by a LONG shot, but this is the Olive Garden...yumm..fettucine alfredo
We then hit up Academy in search of another pair of flipflops for this girl (thanks again, Anheiser)..no luck with that, but look what Sheababy found...
haha, you go girl!
To say the least, we had fun! I miss my Shea!

lil' white

So, I'm sure that at some point over the last several years you've heard of Lil' Wayne and Lil' John....well, meet Lil' White...

Yes, I know..it's blurry, but he never stops moving!

Lil' White is the newest thing to hit the streets..decked out in his white K-Swiss' and his puffy mid-calf socks, he wows all of the girls and intimidates all of the boys..

His perfectly groomed hair with his tiny curls in the back drive the ladies wild and his plaid shorts and tucked shirts are the envy of the men.

That is, of course, until night falls and all the clothes come off...

Then, he's just wild and crazy! He likes to break it down after dark and let it all hang out! (well, with the appropriate cover up from Luvs)

If you see Lil' White out, keep in mind that he loves high fives and smooches, so watch out!
